On Thursday 22nd May, Ornella Tarantola, the librarian of the Italian Institute and once in charge of the Italian bookshop, came to visit us to tell us curiosities and interesting stories about Venice, not known by tourists but only by Venetians that live there.
She also shared with us the importance of reading especially for teenagers as it is a way to open our mind and discover new horizons beyond school and daily life.
She presented us some books very special to her as “Il mio nome è Giovanni” that talks about the life of young boy who has the same name the judge Giovanni Falcone that was killed by the Mafia while fighting against it.
It was a a very pleasant meeting and we hope to meet her again next year. Grazie Ornella!
