Italian-learning pupils of the LFCG get many opportunities to take part in various linguistic, cultural and educational projects.
On Friday 3rd December, Mrs Meloni, Italian teacher at the LFCG, held a videoconference in collaboration with the Liceo Regina Margherita in Palermo, Sicily. The conference revolved around the project called Progetto Interculturale Educazione alla legalità sulle Migrazioni (intercultural project for education about migration laws). This one-month project gathered pupils from various European schools who shared their experience as foreigners and the necessity to learn the language of the country one lives in. Organisations such as Mediterranea Saving Humans were invited and explained immigration. The LFCG took part in a meeting where Marcello R., Terminale student, shared his experience of the project organised this autumn by the Comitato Tre Ottobre in Lampedusa. The school in Palermo was thankful to the Lycée for this precious testimony.
On Sunday 5th December, the new Book Club for teenagers held its first two online meetings on YouTube (replay links listed below). This initiative is sponsored by the Italian Cultural Institute in London (ICI) and the Italian School in London (SIAL school / SIAL courses). 2nde and 1ere pupils learning Italian at the LFCG, including British Section pupils, took part.
