37e Festival de Langue & Culture Arabes

37e Festival de Langue & Culture Arabes

On Monday 15th April, Mrs Bou-Antoun and her pupils learning Arabic from 4e to Terminale, both in the French and the British Sections, organised the 37th Festival des Langue & Culture arabes. This yearly LFCG tradition is always a wonderful occasion to celebrate Arabic language and culture through songs, poems, dance and even food!

Pupils gave a moving performance with a presentation making the audience travel through Arabic-speaking regions whilst seated in the Iselin auditorium. The celebration of Arabic traditions included costumes and flags, whilst the oriental buffet revamped the canteen with colourful backdrops of sand-dunes and columns.

Attending LFCG parents, personnel and pupils all found the evening delightful. The show itself was an excellent rendition of the hard work put in by Mrs Bou-Antoun and her pupils all year to present this rich programme combining various forms of art, with an obvious focus on language learning, with an interesting insight into Arabic culture.

The ease of expression of Mrs Bou-Antoun's pupils in three languages is testament to the proficiency they achieve in so few years of learning as well as a perfect illustration of the mutual influences of these languages.

Once again, the Festival des Langue & Culture arabes was a perfect combination of festive spirit, cultural tradition and friendly atmosphere, making it a total success and paving the way to next year's edition!
